The lecture will introduce the 16th-century Malayalam bhakti poet Poonthanam and discuss the interpretation of karma philosophy in his work Gyanapana. It will be followed by the presentation of a rendering of the verses into music, and con-cluded by a reading from the Gyanapana trans¬created into English by the speaker.
