Cristina Pecchia has been awarded a 2024 Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Translation Grant in Buddhist Studies.
The program is made possible by a grant from The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Global and administered by the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS).
She has been awarded for the project “The Nobles’ Truths in Dharmakirti’s Pramanavarttika Together with Manorathanandin’s Vrtti on It and Vibhuticandra’s Glosses”, which offers a scholarly English translation of these Sanskrit texts together with explanatory comments and provides access to how the Pramanavarttika—one of the most important Sanskrit works of the Indian philosophical tradition—discusses the Four Truths at the intersection of doctrinal issues and philosophical questions.
