Publication series at our Department

The intensive research activity in the Department is reflected both in the extensive publication lists of the members of the ISTB and in the series of publications connected with the Department.

The Vienna Journal of South Asian Studies (Wiener Zeitschrift für die Kunde Südasiens, WZKS) is a well-established and highly reputed medium of publication in the field of philologically and historically oriented European and international South Asian Studies. The Association for Tibetan and Buddhist Studies at the University of Vienna, founded in 1977, publishes the book series Vienna Studies in Tibetology and Buddhism (Wiener Studien zur Tibetologie und Buddhismuskunde, WSTB) with to date (April 2011) 73 monographs and volumes of collected essays. The association The De Nobili Research Library – Association for Indology and the Study of Religion (Sammlung De Nobili – Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Indologie und Religionsforschung) is closely connected with the Department. It is dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of research on Indian religions, especially as regards their encounter with the Western intellectual world and Christian spiritualityThe series already comprises 37 volumes (monographs and collected essays) under the title 'Publications of the De Nobili Research Library'.
