30.06.2017 14:15 - 15:45

Dr. Sudhir Kakar | Psychoanalyst and Writer

There are very few aspects of Indian civilization where the disjunction between its “classical” and modern ages is as striking as in the area of sexuality. Based on the Doniger& Kakar translation of the Kamasutra for Oxford World Classics, this talk will introduce the audience to some highlights of the text, paying special attention to the differences in ancient and modern ideas on alternate sexualities and the concept of love.
