Vienna is home to two long-established hubs of Tibetological research: the Cultural and Intellectual History of Asia (IKGA) at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, and the Department of South-Asian, Tibetan and Buddhist Studies (ISTB) at the University of Vienna. This half-day workshop offers a forum for presenting and discussing current research projects and ideas from both institutions. The showcased projects share a focus on textual sources to address a range of different themes within Tibetan religious, intellectual, and social history. The workshop, being co-organized by the IKGA and ISTB, aims to stimulate exchange on emerging issues among researchers of Tibetan Studies as well as neighboring disciplines.
