The genesis of the protective deity of the Kirti masters in Amdo will be discussed together with the deity-mediums (lha pa / sku rten) possessed by the deity. In the past, several local conflicts arose surrounding the cult of the deity. In 2000, a new medium was ritually appropriated; this medium is being used as an antidote to the cult of Dorje Shugden and to "maintain ties between people and deities" ever since then.
