Dr. Drolma Choekyi Jusal completed both her MA and PhD theses at the Department of Tibetan Studies, Minzu University of China, graduating in 2022. Following her doctoral studies, she undertook a postdoctoral research fellowship (Glorisun Fellowship) at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Oxford University. She also served as a Visiting Researcher at Columbia University's Weatherhead East Asian Institute from 2019 to 2020 and previously as a Visiting Student in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures from 2015 to 2016.


Research Focus

Her research encompasses the religious and social history of the Tibetan plateau, with a particular emphasis on the local history of the Eastern Tibetan region. Additionally, she demonstrates a strong interest in Tibetan material culture and cultural studies, often intertwining textual and image analyses.

· Tibetan material culture and Himalayan Buddhist art

· The history of Rime(non-sectarian) in Eastern Tibetan region
