Tom Tillemans: "Readings in the Lam rim chen mo of Tsong kha pa"

In this seminar we will take up parts of the "Insight" (lhag mthong) chapter, particularly those that deal with the difference between the so-called Svātantrika and Prāsaṅgika schools. Time permitting, we'll also take up parts of the discussion concerning the "identification of the object to be refuted"(dgag bya ngos 'dzin). Other texts of Tsong kha pa and mKhas grub rje may be taken up too, as well as passages from the texts of the Indian authors under discussion.

This seminar will concentrate on reading texts and hence presupposes a working knowledge of Tibetan sufficient to take up a relatively sophisticated text.

Sanskrit is an obvious plus, but not indispensable.
